1963 Split Window Little Red Corvette was our 4th Vette.

1963 Split Window – After having the yellow 74 Vette for a few years we sold it and decided to grow our family. Deb got pregnant after 9 years of marriage I finally got it right , ha,ha.
A two seat Corvette was no longer practical.
But one day we were riding down a side street in Lansing and I spotted what looked like a dirty , dusty older style Corvette covered with leaves parked in the back yard behind a broken fence.
I stopped and knocked on the door and I think I interupted a hippy looking guy smoking something , ha,ha. I asked him if he wanted to sell the car out back and he said sure. I could not believe it when I saw it was my dream car , a 1963 Split Window Corvette . I was trying to keep my excitement from showing as I negotiated the price down to $6,000.00 . He would not go any lower and i said SOLD !! He got some jumper cables and it fired right up !! We headed to the bank and signed it over to me and I drove it 60 miles home with no license plates on the back roads. I did not want to leave because I was afraid he might change his mind and not want to sell it. I could not believe I had a 63 split window. But this is not how it looked. It was painted black with blue flames on the side and header side pipes. But after 8 months and a lot of sweat and a few more dollars this was the final result. I told Deb this was like a station wagon and more practical than our other 2 seat vettes. This has ample room in the back for groceries, shoping sprees , for me to haul car parts and fire wood, ha,ha. So that’s the story on our 4th Vette (:>)
Mack Truck Progress- My boss gave me the week off so the shop is closed this week.
Have a great Tues.
