Alpenfest 2009 festival, , St.Ignace Car Show, Mackinaw Corvette Show , and festivals in many little upnorth towns are starting to happen. It is officially summer and todays picture shows a couple pretty cool looking tourists, ha,ha.
We have enjoyed five weekends now and we are counting the days for the next getaway. When the snow starts falling in Oct. in Gaylord, Deb and I will be fine knowing we had a excellent summer of fun !!
FIFTY MILES OF MICHIGAN BLACKTOP ROADS GO TO GRAVEL ROADS- A recent article in the newspaper said Michigan is hurting so bad for revenue, they are choosing to chew up the bad blacktop roads and put them back to gravel roads. With no money in the budget to repave secondary roads , we now have fifty miles of new gravel roads. Some folks are saying they are much smoother than the rough pothole filled blacktop roads, ha,ha.
VACATION EATING – Deb and I did our daily walking at the Soo Locks while watching ships passing by. With a view of Canada across the river, it is fun walking each summer up their. We also did very well eating in moderation and making heart healthy choices like fresh fruit and veggies. We might look big through the camera lens ?,
but we can outwalk most people our age (:>), and a few younger than us too. We’re thinking of walking around Mackinaw Island this summer , it’s 8 miles , that would be pretty fun with just a couple short breaks for fudge !! , LOL
Gas Prices – Gas prices were about 10 cents a gallon cheaper up on the Canadian Border. We fueled up the motorhome because the next time we use it will be around the fourth of July and gas prices could be sky high by then.
Seal Coating driveway- After cleaning the motorhome, I mowed the lawn and sealcoated the driveway tonight. So it was a pretty productive evening.
DEB’S FIRST MONDAY OFF – Tomorrow Deb gets to sleep in and enjoy the day as I head to the worskshop and get to building the 8 hydraulic cylinders for the RH-400.
Deb is a great wife, mother and my best friend of 37 years.
To those who said it wouldn’t last, it’s looking bad for you and good for us, ha,ha.
