If you click on the smile box you will see over a dozen pictures of the fun we had at Nicole and Bill’s in Washington D.C. and at Atlantic City. It really was another great vacation !!
It’s hard to believe in these tough economic times that we could justify going on vacation. Especially going to Atlantic City to the Casinos and spending $400.00 a night motel at Caesars Palace.
But the good news is these vacation funds have been set aside for a while now waiting to go on this next great vacation. Deb and I paid cash for our little house 25 years ago the day we moved into it. We could have bought a nice new home in a nice new subdivision on the outskirts of Gaylord and been in terrible debt and refinanced a couple times to consolidate out of control credit cards. But we have never paid one penny on credit card interest and better yet, the credit card companies pay us several hundred each year to pay off the whole balance every month . And yes we could have car payments, motorhome payments, and tractor payments too , but we have not had any payments of any kind for over 10 years.
We knew over five years ago America was going to crash with all this out of control debt.
So on this nice sunny Sunday morning 34 chilly degrees , we can look back the last 10 days of great vacation and not question for a moment the fun memories we made with Nicole and Bill spending foolishly , ha,ha.
But on this Sunday morning I am even more thankful to be sitting here one more day . Friday morning on our trip home from vacation in Ohio we came within 5 feet of being hit head on by a oncoming car that was just hit broadside by another car and was flying straight at us. Small parts from the impact were hitting the front of our car and the whole front bumper narrowly slid into our front left tire. The driver was out of control on two wheels as she narrowly missed us going as she slid sideways after she swerved hard to miss us and put vehicle and her heading straight across five lanes of traffic and down into ditch . Deb and I know it wasn’t luck we are here this morning , but instead we know God knew that last Friday morning was not our time yet.
We know our names our in his big book that says when we will each leave this world. We said a quick thank you prayer afterwards , but we are smart enough to know that today could be our last day .
If our names are in that book today , no matter where we are , or what kind of vehicle we are in , it will be over today.
And this is exactly why we have so much fun on all our vacations
So on this Sunday morning I remind all of you to fully enjoy this one more day our Father in Heaven has given us.
