10 hp Briggs and Stratton – Yesterday I got everything ready to go and got the carb cleaned and back together and fired it up for the very first time . It doesn’t run real bad but it needs a carb kit . The jets have rings around them . This was a Gilson Wards, Squire garden tractor . I bought it for $100.00 and the fellow bought it brand new in 1966. His grandson bought a new jd and they just pushed this in the shed where it sat for a few years. He was getting close to hauling it to the scrap yard as he had it for sale for almost a year and he wanted it out of the way. He was one of the first people in Detroit to have a riding lawnmower. His neighbors all thought he was crazy, ha,ha. So it is pretty cool to think this was a one owner tractor and I saved it from the scrap pile and gave it a new life for me to enjoy.
