This week I focused on building the cab, hood, exhaust pipe, air cleaner, headlights, walkways, railings, rear plow linkages, and front swing-out reel assembly.
I have several new photos in this post of my progress, as well as a video explaining what I completed this week.
In one of the pictures, I show the engine hood and the screen on it there, bolting it all in. You can see the air cleaner on there and the built exhaust system. Then after the hood, I went ahead and built the cab. You can see the lights I’m starting to work on. Some of the other new details added were the grab handles and the safety handles.
I have the little braces ready to go for the tile to go through. Then I have the reel that will hold the spool of tile ready to go. When it’s in the transport position, it’s folded back and when it’s in the field working, it extends way out on the side. Makes more sense in the video.
I’m just starting to work on the feeder roller assembly. In the video you can see how the tile will move along from the spool to the actual plow.
On the back, I’m just starting the plow assembly. I still need to work out a few things through trial and error. Much of this I will probably have to redo but I’m just starting to try out a few things. Everything will need to pivot properly with cylinders so I need to figure out how that is all going to work.
By next week the machine should be looking good!
