New photo and video updates for today on the Bron 550 Drainage Tile Plow! My video today shows my initial thoughts on how I am going about making the tracks for the model using a chain and pulley system. Although I’ve built hundreds of models, each one requires unique customization that requires some creative experimenting. At the moment, I am experimenting with the track design.
Building the tracks is always very time-consuming. I have to make dozens of trackpads, dozens of pad attachment brackets, and dozens of grousers (cleats). Then I have to drill over 100 holes to attach the trackpad assemblies to the chain. I then have to weld over 200 attachment brackets that are needed to make that possible. Next, I make dozens of parts for the bogie wheels that give support to the top and bottom of the tracks so they don’t sag. Making the track parts and assembling them could easily take a whole week.
I will keep everyone updated as I progress! Below is the YouTube video talking about the track and photos are below the video.
