Gold Cat D-11R- Todays picture shows the 1/50th scale gold plated dozer I bought about 6 years ago. This gives a good idea of the difference in 1/50th scale and 1/3rd scale. The toy dozer will actually sit in the seat of the big dozer model once the seat is made. Having a small toy of the current model really does help me see a few hidden areas that are hard to see in pictures.
You can see in todays picture I have been working on some of the detail on the right side fender .
This week I will leave the cab and platform construction and move ahead to the lower frame structure. This is the main frame that connects below the radiator and goes all the way back to the rear of the tanks. I will have to flip the floor upside down and prepare it to join the mainframe. This will be a big challenge in this scale but should be fun to see what I can come up with .
Snowplowing – Yesterday we got about three inches of wet snow so I fired up the John Deere and plowed snow for the first plowing in March. Today it looks like full blown winter again.
Sick day- After shoveling and plowing yesterday I wasn’t feeling well so I asked Deb if I could take a sick day ? After her asking me about 20 questions and taking my temperature she said yes ! Oh YEA !! Just kidding , she thinks I should take a sick day about every three days, ha,ha.
Actually I have been feeling sick for a few days and it just caught up with me. I just hate laying around . I slept in today and headed out to the shop about 10:00 to see how I feel. I feel better tinkering than just doing nothing .
Have a great Sunday !!
