Happy New Year – Deb and I wish all of you a Happy and safe New Year. We drove 13 hours yesterday from D.C. to get home before this mornings possible ice storm. We did have ice and things were slippery this morning but temps warmed up and we lucked out.
Deb and I were busy running errands and paying bills today after being gone two weeks to see Nicole and Bill’s baby. Now tomorrow I can get back to what I enjoy a lot too and that is my metal art. I will start building the mounting brackets for the air tank and fuel tank and will get them mounted this weekend . Next week I will start building the cab interior , seats , build the floor and the door to the bathroom and the main control console and levers and get some realistic look inside the cab. Next week I should also get to the steel store and get the truck wheels rolled out of 1/4 inch steel and the backing plates and the axles cut. but I won’t get to them until the following week. I am very excited to get the train roughed in on wheels so I can begin the design of the track and all the railroad ties it will be displayed on. I really think this is going to be the most exciting model so far !!!! Very Exciting
Cat D-11R 1/3rd scale – In between thinking about the train project I can’t help but think also about the monster Cat D-11R model that will stand 5 feet tall. !!! These large models are what I have waited my whole life to build. And then the 5 foot tall Cat 994F to build in the fall and a semi lowboy rig next year. Very, Very Exciting for the new year.
Once again a very Happy New Year Everyone !!
