Cat D-11R Ripper- Todays picture shows most of the parts now sanded and primed . It is far from perfect but i am very pleased with how it is turning out. It makes the rear view of the worlds largest all steel D-11R model look great. Today I should get all the pins built and finish up on it. I really like this model !! It is just awesome seeing it everytime i walk into my workshop.
After 15 years of making toys it is great i am still so excited to get to the shop to see if i can fabricate the next parts needed.
Charlevoix – Deb and i rode over to Charlevoix yesterday and it was the nicest day this year. Lake Michigan was calm and we never saw so many boats out in the water. We sat by the lighthouse for a couple hours visiting with people and it just seemed so nice . Then we walked around town and shared a Cinnamon crumb ice cream cone from Kilwins Chocolate Store .
We talked to a fellow who was our age just going through a divorce after his wife left him after 25 years. He said he thinks she just got bored with her life and wanted to start a new one without him. He said they didn’t fight, they weren’t running around on each other , she just was bored with her life. It would be so hard to start your life over in your mid to late fifties.
It sure made Deb and i think and appreciate each other even more and our simple little happy life. It also reminded me I better stop spending 12 hours a day in the shop 6 or 7 days a week and start entertaining Deb more. (:>)
We got a fun 4th of July weekend planned and no working in the shop , ha,ha.
We were up walking on our daily walk this morning and it was so nice out already.
Have a great Monday !!
