Cat D-9G Dozer Project

Cat D-9G Dozer Project

This Cat D-9G Dozer is similar to the next model project I will start on next week. The LeTourneau L-1800 cab is well underway and should be completed by tonight , then the engine will be the next part of the model to build. Either Mon. or Tues. it should be painted. The D-9G is a machine I have also wanted to build for a couple years. We have a Cat D-9H Dozer that sits about three miles from where I live and I think it is a awesome machine. Just sitting in the seat it seems like a monster. This will be a bigger scale than the current model I am building. After the D-9, I have decided to build a NW Dragline like the one Mel Price owns. A Bay City Shovel is also on my list of upcoming projects. Building one of a kind models is still very exciting to me, even after building so many machines, I still get very excited when I sit down and do the design for the next one. The challenge of being able to make the next one look a little like the real machine is what keeps me very motivated. I still have so many machines I want to build one of a kind models in the years to come.
I would like to thank everyone who has bought my models over the years and enjoy them in their collections. It is a great feeling that people enjoy having one of my models in their collections. It’s hard to believe looking back nine years ago that I would still be building models today. My life long dream was to build half scale working machines. I think about it almost everyday and I still plan on building a half scale 4 wheel drive tractor and a half scale Cat scraper or loader that I can play with. But for now, I am still enjoying the static model building. I stopped and called on two running gears with engines last week for two possible 1/2 scale future projects.
SNOWSTORM UPDATE- The weatherman is calling for 6 inches of snow for us now starting later today into Sat. morning. We’ll have to see if I will need to get out the tractor and go to work , ha,ha. Like it is really work getting to play in the snow with that JD and get $100.00 an hour besides. I would probably do it for free, but don’t tell my customers that, ha,ha,ha. Three ha,h’a’s is almost equivelent to a LOL , but not quite. P.S. The D-9 will have a rops with a roof over the operators station, but not a cab, and it will not have the rear ripper.
