MICHIGAN 12 ” SNOWSTORM !!!- The snowmobile trails opened today in Gaylord , and it has been snowing pretty hard for the last couple hours. The weatherman is saying after 6 ” from this actual storm system that is now going through Michigan , the winds will turn around from the northwest and should give us another six inches of lake effect snow. So 6 inches of wet snow underneath and 6 inches of powdery snow on top should make for a good conditions for a test run for my snowmobile tomorrow. It would be great to get up tomorrow and have 12 inches on the ground with 4 foot drifts from drifting . That would be a fun morning of blowing it around with the 84″ Erskine Snowblower and then after I get done plowing my customers, and put the John Deere away , then I can hop on the Ski-Doo and go for a nice ride.
I guess Deb will have to reschedule that date with her special guy til Sunday, ha,ha.
Cat D-9G Dozer Progress- This picture shows me holding the engine hood in place where it should mount once the brackets are in place. This morning I finished the brackets and now the hood sits on it’s own on the model. The grille is in place in this picture and the blade lift cylinders are done and bolted in place. Now I can see the overall shape of the Dozer and see if everything looks close to how it should look. I am pleased with everything now that it is roughed in. Later the rear hitch and rear frame details will be added and the rear lights. I also have more to do on the track frames as far as detail. I may work on it a few hours tomorrow in between playing in the snow. I decide to build the engin next instead of the blade. I got the first six parts cut out for the engine block and will work on the first side of the engine this afternoon.
