Cat Dozer Track Parts- Todays picture shows the next stage of the 1/3rd scale Cat D-11 Dozer Model. As i sit here typing my shoulder is very sore from hand cutting hundreds of track chain and track pad parts. I use a small hand shear with a three foot long lever . It takes a little bit of effort to make each cut so when you multiply that same downward force with the same arm over and over hundreds of times a day it tends to make my shoulder a little sore.
But todays picture gives me inspiration I am making progress on the undercarriage and track assembly. There is still a lot to do on this left side assembly but today I will begin cutting out the hundreds of parts for the right side. Even now i know what parts to make , it will be easier , it will not speed up the hand cutting process. I can see this is truely going to be my favorite model i have ever built. You still can’t get the idea of the size of it because of the monster blade it will have and the large ripper assembly that will be mounted on the back. But I am very pleased so far with the construction taking in consideration my crude tools . I’m sure no engineer and not a welder but as metal art I am very happy with it.
Day 6 and 6 lbs. lost – Diet day no. 6 – Less time on the internet and getting up a hour early everyday and hitting the treadmill walking and running is working . Along with eating a few nuts and berries and lots of fruit and veggies. It was a fun winter of eating junk but now to avoid joining the ranks of the obese permanently we are on our way to being just fat. Even after losing 25 to 30 lbs. the books still show me as being fat but now days fat is acceptable (:>) ha,ha.
It is not east losing weight at our age but we just get up and know what we have to do .
Have a great Thurs. !!
