Chessie GM-50 – Todays picture shows one of the first possible choices for painting my 1/4 scale Chessie Locomotive model. I really liked this paint scheme but thought it looked too much the same color as many of my past machinery models. I still like this look and it is very unique.
Paint Shop Progress- Today I finished painting all the navy blue train parts . I also mixed up the yellow that is a shade or two brighter yellow than Cat yellow. If all goes as planned tomorrow I will tape off the cab and left side and should get those sections painted yellow.
Friday I hope to tape off the rear and right side and paint the yellow sections. Then I will have to wait a few days to tape off the sections for the orange/red stripe because I have to apply tape to the freshly sprayed paint.
Sat. I will mix the cab interior paint colors and start detailing the cab inside. I will wait to apply the windows after the red stripe is painted. While waiting for the paint to harden a few days I will go buy the lumber for the railroad ties.
