Corvette No. 5 – Todays picture shows Deb and Nicole getting ready for the first ride in the brand new red Corvette we had just bought at Martin Chevrolet in Saginaw. It was Christmas Eve and we pulled in the lot and saw a shiney red Corvette inside in the showroom. We went inside and was checking it out and joking it would be a great Christmas Present. The salesman approached us asking if we wanted to take it home , he would put a big red bow on it. I told him if he gave us a price we couldn’t refuse we might just have to buy it. He threw out a couple figures and I said not good enough but if he got serious we would buy it. So he went and talked to his boss as they always do and came back and knocked a few thousand more off and i told him he was getting close and if he could do a little better I would buy it right now. He again went to talk to his boss and came back and we were still 2,000 away from a sale. I told him we would buy it now for 2000 more off the price and I told him I appreciated his time . As we started to walk out the door his boss stopped us and asked me how serious I was to buy it right now . I told him to lower the price two thousand more and I would show him . He said I drove a hard bargain but he said he would agree to my price that ended up being $10,000 less than they originally wanted.
I sat down at his desk and bought this brand new Vette on Christmas Eve. That was pretty exciting and the first time Nicole was with us getting a Vette.
Oh, by the way we trashed the 63 split window Vette and had to buy a new one, ha,ha,ha. Just kidding.
