Corvette Restoration part 2 as Don Campbell completes paint and primer.

1963 Split window Corvette – Todays picture shows me many years ago restoring my first ever car. Not sure if it should have been a 63 Vette , ha,ha just in case I completely screwed it up, ha,ha.
This picture shows the next stage . Because I am changing colors from black to red I had to scrape and sand inside the doors and inside the hood too. You can see the fiberglass was pretty original .
I am holding the fan motor cleaning it in this picture.
The day we bought the vette, the brakes failed and the owner crashed into his car and damaged the front folding light and corner.
After purchasing it, I then drove it to the other side of Lansing to a garage to get the brake line repaired before driving it home the 60 miles to our house. I only had the emergency brake to stop me, that was interesting but no further damage . We pulled plates of another vehicle and drove it home with illegal plates, and no insurance ??
Now that I look back, that was kinda risky, ha,ha.
RUNNING OUTSIDE – Yesterday Deb and I tried running outside for the first time in several weeks . It was lightly snowing so we were careful not to slip and fall. We are so sore today , it sure shows running on the treadmill 7 days a week isn’t real running. Race day only 18 days away and it might be rough after all not running outside all winter. But the good news is treadmill or outside running 7 days a week is better than laying around (:>) and that is all good. This is always the worst time of year for Deb and I to gain our weight back every year. So we are excited seeing we are not in that yearly slump this year for the first time in many years (:>).
No SNOWPOWING – Another week here and Jan. is almost over and still no real snowstorms. The weatherman is saying maybe this week we could get a few inches.
Cat 797F progress- I continue to work everyday on the big Cat truck. Yesterday I worked half a day on the box , building the rear frame sections and the tow hook cables that connect to the back of the box and working on the center frame section box guide rest structure that the front of the box rests on. I now have 30 more hours on the box now than I planned on. But it is now looking really good. Today I am working on the model again and could be close to getting all the parts cut out by tonight.
Have a great Tues. !!!
