DON CAMPBELL CHECKS OUT THE FIRST GREAT LAKES FREIGHTER TO ENTER THE SOO LOCKS FOR 2007

I took these two pictures on Sat. afternoon at the Soo Locks. The Roger Blough Freighter is sitting here in the ice above the locks . It will be the first boat through the locks for the 2007 shipping season. The locks opened last night at midnight. We stayed in the Ojibaway Hotel across from the Soo Locks . We were on the 3rd floor with a nice view of the locks. About 2:00am I looked out the window and saw a freighter heading upbound into the locks. So I got to see the first and the second ship that entered the locks. So that was pretty cool. We will stay hear part of the day and watch for more boats and then work our way back to Gaylord. The picture below this one shows the rear of the Roger Blough in the ice.
Thanks for the nice e-mails about my Corvette. Glad I am not the only one that still enjoys them, ha,ha.
Have a nice Sunday with the ones you love.
