DON CAMPBELL STOPS AT THE LENCO POTATO EQUIPMENT FACTORY AFTER 8 YEARS.

It was about 8 years ago that I was making farm machinery models and I wanted to build a cool potato harvesting machine.
After getting directions to this place , we made the drive over and there was a brand new self-propelled harvester sitting in the parking lot. I thought it was very cool and I took 50 or so pictures of it and came home and built a model of it. That was the first model of mine that ever made it on the cover of Toy Farmer Magazine.
A couple years later I returned to Lenco and they had a newly designed self-propelled potato planter in the parking lot . So I took many pictures of it at all different angles and came home and built it.
Today that one sits in Dyersville, Iowa in the National Farm Toy Museum and that is very cool. The first one I made now sits in Lansing in the office of the Michigan Potato Industry. That is also very cool. I ended up making several old fashioned horse drawn one row potato diggers and one two row pull type planter.
So Lenco has a lot of memories for me and it was fun to stop after all these years and walk around their. I could smell the frsh paint in the air on the newly painted parts.
MICHIGAN 675 LOADER PICS- I posted two more pics today of the big Michigan 675 loader dismantled and being hauled by Russ and some of his employees on lowboy trucks.
TEREX TITAN – Another wet morning , so I worked on the exhaust pipes, and housing that goes down between the frame . I also got the right side bottom tank and ladder done. Next I will build the two platforms and access ladders theat mount between the front radiator and the front fenders. The right side of the cool model is taking shape. I’ll post the next progress picture on Fri.
TEN 4 WHEEL DRIVE SNOWPLOW TRATORS WITH FOLDING BLADES- Last fall I posted a couple pics of a Massey-Furguson 4 wheel drive articulating tractor with a front folding snowplow . It was sitting at a Home Depot Store in the parking lot . I thought it was very cool. Later in the year I spotted a couple more of them in other parking lots in other towns nearby. Last weekend we stopped at the residence where the owner of them lived. He has ten of them all together. I took some pictures of 7 of them parked together. I’ll post them tomorrow.
