NICOLE AND BILL – Nicole and Bill had a safe trip from D.C. to Gaylord on Sat. They said the traffic was heavy but no long term traffic backups .
Today we will take the motorhome and do a little camping with them and have a campfire tonight with brats, hotdogs and smores and sit around the fire and get caught up on more of our visiting.
KROGER GMC SUPERMARKET TRUCK- I’m not sure if many of you know that I worked in the grocery business for almost 20 years.
I was a meat-cutter for about 18 years and the last few years I was a meat-manager for a new Kroger Store in Central Michigan.
Once a week I would go to the $1.00 rack of cheap toys section in the Kroger store and bring home a little item to Nicole. She always looked forward to it no matter what it was.
Once in a while they would be throwing away a display from the grocery part of the store .
This GMC Kroger Truck display was one such item.
You can see Nicole peeking out of it. I’ll have to say this little Cardboard Kroger Truck got more use from Nicole and her Cat than some of her most expensive toys, ha,ha.
What that said about Nicole was that she had such a good imagination. She just loved getting in that truck and pretend she was going places . It sat in our living room for several months getting daily use . Then one day the brakes started to get bad , and then the engine quit. (:<). It was a sad day when I got out the box cutter and modified the body into narrow strips of cardboard.
But the hours and hours of fun Nicole had imagining she was driving a Truck from Krogers where I worked was so much fun for her. Seeing the picture again sure reminds of us of simple fun times long ago .
PIZZA SAMS IN ALMA- Another destination we will be heading to this week will be our favorite pizza place, Pizza Sams , umm umm !!
Nicole grew up going there with us and they have the best hand-made old fashioned, raised crust, on them. I always order double crust and it is SO Great !! Just like eating fresh baked bread with great toppings.
FOURTH OF JULY – Looks like we will be in Traverse City on the Fourth so we will probably watch the fireworks over the Grand Traverse Bay.
FRANKENMUTH BAVARIAN INN- Another destination for this week will be Frankenmuth , it’s a cute little town all decorated in a German theme near Saginaw. They are world famous for their family style chicken dinners. Frankenmuth also has many little shops full of souvenirs that Nicole loves too look at. And they are also known for their pastries, umm !! There goes my diet this week, LOL.
One day we will also spend the day with Bill’s family at the shooting range. That will be a little different , but fun too as Bill’s family are all very nice .
THANKING GOD TODAY – On this sunny Sunday morning I am so thankful for all we have and so thankful for Nicole and Bill’s good marriage and seeing them being kind to each other .
Deb and I do not have much, but what little we have , we thank God for everyday . As a struggling Christian , I will never give up the battle to make it to Heaven. Have a nice Sunday with the ones you love .
