M&M Excavating Show almost over-
I enjoyed watching the M&M Kenworth Gravel Trains busy at work yesterday . They really moved along at a surprisingly fast pace.
I also have always loved big dump trucks my whole life.
I remember as a young boy sitting in class while the teacher gave the lesson , and I remember I was busy drawing dump trucks . That explains why I never did well on tests, ha,ha.
Not sure where this obsession with this equipment came from , but I sure still like it to this day.
If you go to ( 07 summer pics ) in the gallery section you can see several more pics I took yesterday of M&M spreading road gravel in on the N. Ohio St. Curb, gutter and re-black topping project.
Some of you know I plan to build a Michigan Gravel Train model in the future. It will be around 15 feet long. I actually started it a couple years ago and got orders for other models to build and have not been caught up since.
Hough Paydozer Progress- I got the blade bent and the rear welded on the curve. The cutting edge is drilled and bolted in place. The blade frame is built and bolted to the bottom of the paydozer frame. The two tilt cylinders are built and in place. The lift cylinder is also built and hooked to the top of the front frame section. The swivel , skid/shoes are also built and in place . I have a couple small pieces to weld to the top spill edge and it will be roughed in.
NICOLE AND BILL – Today is a special day for Deb and I as Nicole and Bill are on their way home for a few days.
This is their only visit for the year during the summer. We only see them four time s a year so we look so forward to them being home.
They usually keep pretty busy trying to see everyone and still have time with us. We are very understanding and we adjust to their daily schedules just fine. Bill usually heads for the woods a few days with his family and Nicole heads to the malls with her family, LOL.
DAN UPDATE – My mom said Dan’s daughter will bring Dan home for a short visit next week as he will be released from his room at the rehab center. But she said he will be going back to stay at a near by motel type building for out patients and still do theropy for several more days.
DEBBIE – She also continues to make slow progress.
MICHIGAN 675 LOADER – This loader held the record for the worlds largest front -wheeled loader for many years. I love this machine too and after climbing all over it a few weeks ago, I am even more excited to get building it in a couple weeks.
The Michigan 675 will probably be the last model I will be able to finish before we go to Indy to the National Truck and Construction Toy Show Aug. 17, 18 and 19th .
