Soo Locks- Todays picture shows me getting my morning jogging in along the St.Mary’s River at the Soo.
In the background is a Manitowoc 3900 barge crane with a clamshell bucket. Richie talked about me possibly building this configeration for him as a all steel 1/16th scale model. I have always wanted to build my first crane and my first barge crane .
This could even be my first crane project and also I would build the crawler version before next summer for Richie.
Runners breakfast- After running this morning the coach said I should have 15 dried cherries, a small glass of 100% orange juice and 10 nuts and a boiled egg. Good healthy choices.
Tomorrow is my second official weigh day and it is looking real good that I will lose another five lbs.
So that will be a 10 lb loss in just two weeks. I am eating 100% health food, instead of a bag of chips, I eat a bag of raw carrots, instead of having a six pack of Pepsi , I have a six pack of water with fresh squeezed lemon. Instead of a bucket of greasy fried chicken , now I eat two pieces of skinless boiled chicken and no more fried eggs, instead boiled eggs. No more greasy french fries , instead we have thin sliced baked potato slices in the oven . And instead of jelly beans, I have a few dried cherries.
No more deep fried breaded fish, but grilled scallops with fresh onions and fresh mushrooms. For dessert lots of watermelon, lots of fresh cut pineapple chunks, fresh blueberries, strawberries and kiwi. So it really is possible to lose weight fast and do it in a healthy way with natural , high fiber non processed food.
The running is not easy yet, and I got a ways to go , but I really feel great I am giving it another try after 25 years of not running .
All of you that are trying to follow along my program I say congradulations . If I can do it , you can too. Just listen to your body and don’t overdo the running , just run one block and walk one block or two blocks . Just the fact you are giving it another try says you got a better chance than if you just sit on the couch with the pop ,candy and chips like I did. America is in big trouble with obesity , we need to start somehwere. Deb is doing great, I am so proud of her . She is really surprising me with her determination !! Thanks again to Nicole for training for the last year and entering her first race three weeks ago. It is the reason we are doing this (:>). We want to get healthy like her to live longer and make more memories together.
