Gaylord Herald Times, Otsego County Road Commission and the Gaylord City DPW have been watching this storm wondering if it would move west to the Great Lakes. Hundreds of snowplow truck drivers digging out their plows just in case. Todays picture shows Don Campbell in Gaylord , Michigan ready to go.
Actually the two mini loaders are just Don’s toys and never leave the yard and the Fisher plow on the truck hasn’t been used in three years. The 4 wheel drive JD is the only machine he uses to move snow commercially around town. Equipped with a optional front snowscoop with reversable side wings and a 84″ rear mounted Erskine Snowblower it moves 15 or 20 inches of snow with ease. This was the first time Don ever took a picture of all four machines side by side. He also has a 32 inch walk behind JD snowblower that hasn’t been used in three years. When it snows less than three inches he actually goes out and shovels his driveway with a push scoop type shovel.
If Don isn’t pushing the snow around he is driving over it on his Blair Morgan Edition Ski-Doo . for most people winter is a terrible time of year but Don makes the best of it and actually enjoys it.
Jobs, Jobs, Jobs- This week Whirlpool announce it is leaving to go to Mexico even though the government gave them 20 million dollars to stay. They basically said we can save millions by paying those people next to nothing and ship the products to the U.S. and sell them to Americans as all the other companies have done. Next year we will lose another 100,000 jobs because Americans won’t work for a dollar an hour . Our government just sits and does nothing to penalize these companies or does not add a 50% import tax to ship them back here. America is in the next great depression right now and there is no stopping it and the government knows it. So enjoy everyday because despite what the people on the news say things are getting better , they are not, ha,ha. So go out and have a fun Sunday with the ones you love.
Sorry to ramble on but it is very sad so many people are losing everything and they are not lazy people. They just want a 40 hour job paying fair wages with some benefits. Most of them don’t even expect union wages.
