Less than a week ago this picture was taken on the mountain top near Tenn. overlooking miles and miles of beautiful scenery. Fall is known for the forest changing colors with it’s brilliant reds , oranges and yellows. But the only colors I was interested in this day was yellow !!! Actually Cat yellow to be specific, ha,ha. Even though I had been to the mines before and actually seen larger 973 Haul trucks , I forgot how huge these trucks were standing next to them in person.
I was excited to see these monsters again and although I had seen them a few times before my friend Leon had never seen them before . So it was very exciting to see Leons eyes light up and a big old grin a mile wide as he we walked up to a couple dozen monster machines . If this is two sizes smaller than the really big Cat trucks you can imagine the size they are. I have been invited to come see much larger machines but so far have been unable to make that happen. When the box is raised up it is close to the height of a 4 story building . Very Cool !
Getting to see the don campbell museum , go enjoy a day in the mines and then get to go play in the mud and drive some ceawler carrier dumptrucks was almost more than I could handle, ha,ha. I was having a few chest pains from all the excitement , LOL

Chessie GP-40 Progress- I’m not sure if my visitors to my webpage for the last five years will be interested in trains or not .
I’ll see in the next few weeks if my stats drop or not. But I have actually got quite a few e-mails already saying people are very excited for the train model to begin.
Last night I finished the front and rear design on paper in scale. The width will be close to 3 feet wide with side fuel tanks attached and close to 4 feet tall . I will work on the first side design to scale tonight and tomorrow. It’s going to be a cool toy train . I should fit inside the cab , well if I can lose a few more lbs, that is, ha,ha.
