Pleasant Valley, Michigan , just north of St. Louis is where Don Campbell lived on a Farm as a teenager . Even though his stepdad would not let him have a welder because he thought Don would burn down the Barn , he was lucky his neighbor did . Jim Michaels was that farmer just down the road who was very handy with a welder. Jim is the first person responsible for hooking Don up with a Lincoln Welder in his farm workshop. Don later did buy his first welder and nearly burnt down the garage he was renting. But the fire was quickly put out and did no actual damage to the building .
Then Don tried welding outside until one rainy day he got a nice shock !! These days Don has a nice little compact workshop in Otsego County with metal ceilings, metal sides and a extra splatter shield and two fire extinquishers close by for making his toys.
Don loved the few years on the farm and being around that farm equipment all those years ago is one of the reasons for his love of making farm toys for 8 years. These days he is temporarily postponing any farm toy orders and enjoying building Construction and Mining equipment like this latest mining model.
