4×4 articulating tractors- Todays picture shows me smiling because my prototype wheel adaptor bolted on perfect . Also the wheel spacer ring design and bolt system worked great. So now that i know the pattern is correct i will go ahead and fire up the plasma cutter and the drill press and build several more . You can see the difference in the old size tire and the new 30″ tall tires that will be on it after it is converted. This will surely give it a more rugged tractor look and not so much a riding lawnmower look. This machine is not in the workshop yet as i plowed snow with it again this morning and several more inches of snow are heading our way yet again tonight .
I will rearrange the tractors in the shop on Friday and the Steiner will then be out of commission for the next couple months as it a lot of changes . The front wheel conversion will be a breeze to change but nothing will fit right on the rear axle without a lot of fabrication. I will need the cutting torch, the welder and the sheet metal bender to get the rear wheels to work. But it is probably my last garden tractor project. Then I will go back and build some attachments for them. This fall I will also build my first pedal tractor custom. Along with that i will be in the mood again to build a few more models. But all those projects will be second over Deb and I enjoying a fun summer as our golden years wind down.
Our old bodies are slowly wearing out even after walking everyday for over 25 years. We still do pretty good but we do notice it does take longer to crawl to the kitchen every morning with all our aches and pains, lol
