Alpenfest Herr Gessler – This wooden statue was carved by a area artist and placed in the Gaylord Courthouse lawn. His reputation was similar to the Grinch . The story was he was a mean mountain man and his rare trips down to the village he expected the townsfolks to bow down to him.
