Gaylord Alpenfest 2010 – We had another perfect night at the Alpenfest Concert . The band played Songs from the group Journey and we all got groovy to the music , ha,ha. This nice picture of Bill , Deb and Greg’s nephew I took yesterday as Greg tried to outdo my stories . I have to admit Those Texans can really spread the BULL , LOL
We had a wonderful day with Greg and his family. Greg is a lot like me and I have to take some of the credit for his great sense of humor, ha,ha.
He lived next door to us for several years when he was very young and he was always over to our house entertaining us. (:>).
Tomorrow is the last day of Alpenfest and the band will sing Bob Segar Songs !!, oh yea ! I love many of his songs and I Jog to some of them everyday on my I-pod.
We have been staying out later than normal every night and we’re doing pretty good keeping up with Nicole and Bill , ha,ha.
But tomorrow morning at 8:30 am the starting gun will go off and I’ll see then how well I have done being out late , ha,ha. Tomorrow is race day for me and only the second 5K race in my life. I am nervous and excited both and ready to run and do my best. At my age it is crazy to try to win , but just to run and see so many people my age not running I know I will be proud of myself even if I was to finish last place. When I raced my first race in Arlington, Va. there were 500 people behind me when I crossed the finish line . But in this race the most there will be could be 500 people so I really could be the last runner, ha,ha.
What ever happens in the race I will know I have done my best.
Also I will be thinking of running with my sister everyday over 25 years ago. She was killed while jogging and I never ran again for over 25 years.
So this race is also for her as was the first one in Arlington and every race I ever race again my sister Sandy will be in my thoughts and us running together every morning .
