Toy Trains – Last fall I walked into the Leesburg, Va. Hobby Shop and bought a HO scale toy GP-40 Engine. I was uncertain if I could convert the look of this small toy into a realistic proportioned 15 foot long model of the same little toy. Todays picture shows me applying the first side lettering and numbers. This is the moment when my models really let me know if I came close to the overall look or not.
The fact this was my first ever attempt to build a train , let alone a fifteen foot long toy train and I am VERY pleased with the overall look . As far as I know this is a one of a kind model . Anyone who knows anyone who built a 1/4 scale Chessie GP-40 static model let me know . Today I will work more inside the cab installing the windows and finishing up detailing inside.
Railroad Ties- Yesterday I also bought the lumber for the construction of the railroad track section the model will be displayed on. I am even sometimes amazed when I finish a model that i started with a single flat piece of metal . You can kinda see the toy train sitting on top of the model.
Have a great FRDAY !!
