Thirty one years ago today was a exciting but nervous day for Deb and I as we sat at the Alma Hospital and saw Nicole for the very first time. Deb and I were both crying and that little newborn baby Nicole lifted up her head and looked around and it was so cute.
After 7 years of marriage just Deb and I had so much fun and we were looking forward to the three of us. I was always nervous around Nicole as a newborn because she was so fragile. I remembered many times thinking I can’t wair til she can come outside with me and play in the snow or ride on my tractor or ride with me on one of my dunebuggies around the yard. Before we knew it she was starting school and we were there watching her get on the school bus the first day of school and it was very emotional . Then I remember her having some great birthday parties. The first two years of school I wanted her to invite every little girl in her class so as not to hurt anyones feelings. About the third grade she started picking her own party girlfriends. I always wanted to get party favors and decorations and those little paper cups with peanuts and mints.
I only went to one birthday party and it was so cool I wanted to see Nicole having that same feeling every year I felt that one time. (:>)
We still had Birthday parties for Nicole in her teens. The college years ended our birthday parties but we always had a cake and icecream and a nice present.
Not long after college she married Bill and moved to D.C. and Nicole is now a new mommy but she will always be the little girl laughing and having fun at the birthday parties.
No Birthday party today for Nicole but we will always cherish many fun memories (:>). Time goes by very fast and we knew it and never took it for granted. Now Nicole and Bill will be able to start a whole new future of Birthday parties for Terak and I just hope she always remembers the little cups with peanuts and mints, ha,ha.
