John Deere 8020 – Todays picture shows another awesome example of people who enjoy building tractors in half scale. Thanks Randy for more pictures of these two great half scale John Deere Tractors. I’m not sure if the same fellow built both of them or not. It would be fun to see them in person to really appreciate the workmanship that went into them.
RUNNERS WORLD MAGAZINE – We got our second issue of runners world in the mail yesterday . It looked like it had been in a marathon and run over by half the people who entered , ha,ha. .
The cover of the magazine was actually cut several times and crushed . Nice try , but that won’t stop me from continuing to run , ha,ha.
I did head out this morning and only got a few blocks and it started pouring hard and decided to come back home. It was a cold rain. But all was good as a hour later off I went again in just light drizzle and I completed the morning 5K afterall.
After just 11 weeks I find myself being very content at running just 5K . At my old age I don’t think 8K or 10K , etc. is what I want. Shedding weight and having fun without pushing this old body too hard and breaking it is the perfect balance I am looking for. The last two weeks I have averaged 21 miles of running each week and it feels really good. No ice packs , no stiff legs, no limping the rest of the day , just a great feeling of accomplishment . Surprising running doesn’t feel the same as boring old exercise , it really is fun ! I’m already looking forward to tomorrow morning and my next 5K run.
SUMMER IS OVER ? OR NOT QUITE ?- Today Deb and I got invited to go for a boat ride up to Burt Lake with our friends on their 38 foot Cabin Cruiser. They wanted to go for one more ride before the first light blanket of snow covers it up and it gets pulled from the icy water. It will be chilly , but I figure Deb and Barb will be down below watching TV and baking cookies and Bruce and I will be enjoying the beautifull fall colors of Northern Michigan from the water . Should be great fun. Hopefully Bruce will bring a few carmel apples from the Chocolate Haus, ha,ha.
Rimpull Coal Hauler Truck Model Progress- This morning I built the front ladder assembly and attached it.
