Garden Tractors – I have searched the web for many years looking at peoples 1/2 scale tractor projects. Most of them are just stock garden tractors with modified fenders , different tires and usually a big tractor looking exhaust pipe. Then I found a couple dozen where folks were very creative and put many hours into them and looked awesome. But I have only ever seen ONE exact scale mini 4×4 articulating tractor with duals front and back. Mostly because a person cannot sit in a half scale cab if it is truely half scale. So it is useless to put a to scale cab on one . So what I am doing is very , very rare. This mini John Deere 9630 will no way accomodate my oversized body . Even if I lost 50 lbs. the to scale cab would not fit my fat body.
But I do plan on building the cab to scale and I do plan on plowing snow on a regular basis with it all winter. So as i progress on the project I will show how I plan to show it at tractor shows looking to scale and then how I will use it to plow snow all winter.
Todays progress shows the top vent screens welded in place , the hood ornament roughed in and bolted on top and some of the lower side and front frame work roughed in. Once I start on the Degelman silage blade I may have to redo some things down below to allow more clearance for lifting and lowering the big front blade. This is still a rough view of just welded and hammered sheet metal and everything will look completely different once the body work is done and everything is fitted for the final time. Not to mention the nice shiny green and yellow paint job, ha,ha.
Monday I will get going on the left side tank , step , grab handles , etc. before I go back to the cab .
Have a great Sat.
