I have never posted a picture of a Kress machine before . They do make several unique looking machines. Their machines definately have a look of their own. I have never seen one of them in any of the mines I have visited. This one looks like it has been retired . Darrell said the drivers enjoy running them as the engines are located in the rear of the machine , making for a nice peaceful sound up in the cab. One of their cool looking Kress Machines I’m sure will also be a future project down the road on my long list of machines I want to build into models.
Cat D-9G Dozer Progress- I have the first few parts sanded and primed and by mid-afternoon should start painting the first coat of yellow. I did not reassemble the unpainted model and take pics of it.
70 inches of Gaylord snow is going fast. It’s hard to believe we have gotten that much snow and I can see the bare lawn in places. The forecast for the next several days still says above normal temps. We could end up losing every bit of the snow we had by this weekend. Very strange weather .
Acco Italian Umberto Monster Grader- After supper tonight I will get the axle metal and the metal for the rear lower frame ready to go for tomorrow morning to begin that one of a kind project. It is a very unique looking grader and the fact I love machines with lots of wheels helped make me decide to build this one next.
Beauty and the Beast monster truck is still on the list for this winter and if we make a quick trip to Danville, Ill. in Jan. to deliver a couple models, I could get the info needed to build the NorthWest Dragline this winter for Mel Price. As it now stands , the Komatsu 575 Super Dozer is now the next project on my list. But who knows, I change my mind a lot, ha,ha. That’s what makes it stay fun. The Euclid Titan was on the list, but lack of tires is putting that on hold. The Cat no. 16 grader is still on the list for spring. A Wabco or Dresser Scraper is also on my list of future projects.
