Lawn and Garden Tractor Magazine – It’s been a couple years since I have really got excited about a monthly magazine. Here I am holding up four of my Lawn and Garden Tractor Magazines I have bought over the last several months at the local TSC store in Gaylord. With me working on the little half scale tractors these magazines have articles about other people making them and I love seeing other peoples creative side.
1/2 scale jd 720 – today I am sanding and doing body work on the fenders, seat , hood, etc. and will get them primed this afternoon to keep them from rusting as these projects will be set aside tomorrow for a while so I can get back to toy building .
Komatsu Mining Excavator – Monday morning I will have to adjust my thinking and change scales from designing and cutting out half scale parts to 1/12th scale parts. I may still make one part each day for one of the half scale tractors. (:>)
Otsego Club Golf Course CLOSING – The Gaylord Herald Times had a article sharing the sad news of the long time Otsego Club of Gaylord will be closing it’s doors this fall on it’s restaurants and skiing For over 70 years this has been a favorite destination for families . With the economy being so slow that could be a big factor. No mention of the golf Otsego Club Golf Course closing yet.
Golf Courses closing over 200 in U.S. – Seems golfing numbers peaked in 2010 and have declined the last two years with close to 200 golf courses closing now and many more in trouble. With millions of people losing their homes and millions more going to lose them golfing is no longer a top priority for them.
Foreclosers – I can’t believe how many people my age are still in so much debt. In fact i can’t believe how many people my age are losing their homes. My goal was to be debt free at 50 years old. We have never even paid interest on a credit card and my friends have credit card debt of over $30,000 !! Deb and I always felt poor as our friends lived in the big fancy homes and had the big power boats and two brand new suv’s in the driveway . They always went on expensive vacation get a ways and we only went to Cedar Point. It’s sad they now are homeless and don’t even own a car and they are still working . These are people who have not lost their jobs. Pretty sad the banks let people borrow so much money with nothing to back it. Some of them just laugh and say I owe $160,000 and i am just walking away from it and i will be debt free.
I still feel poor and always will but what little we have is 100% paid in full and that makes me feel good as I lay my head on my pillow at night that no bill collectors will be calling me.

Have a great Sunday !! and enjoy this one more day God has given us.
