Steam Engine Shows 2013- Well despite the fresh 3 inches of snow we got that last couple days most of it is already melted. Now we can concentrate on the schedules for this years garden tractor and Steam Engine shows for 2013. Even though I have built some very unique models and machines over the years being a showman is definately not my thing. I enjoy going to tractor shows but it would take a lot to get me to actually take my tractors and show them. This is why I just share all my projects on my webpage. Even many years ago at Toy Shows it was a bit awkward for me when people would ask for my autograph and people would want their picture taken next to me. I was very flattered and it was pretty cool to think about later on . But at the time it was awkward. Who knows though maybe another year or two when I get all the tractors looking just like I want them to look I could possibly haul them to Buckley Steam Engine Show one time and show them. I’m sure 99.9 % of the folks would enjoy seeing them.
Today is our first day back to the old grind. I pulled the truck out of storage first and got it all polished up and then I fired up the JD455 Diesel All Wheel Steer for the first time. The mini jd 4020 also fired right up with no hesitation. The jd 455 diesel snowblower tractor always starts right up . The other two cheap $100.00 tractors also fired right up so that was great. It was 35 degrees when I started all of them . Fout other tractors are still in the shop and the Bolens is sold and sitting on a pallet out back waiting to be picked up later on this summer.
I have to get some grass seed put down and some fertilizer down and do some cleaning of the flower beds this afternoon . Then tomorrow I will get back to working on the jd 9630 mini tractor.
It is always fun to meet someone who knows me from the internet. On our trip to D.C. we stopped at Somerset, Penn. for the night and drove around a little and stopped at the West Central Equipment John Deere Dealer to look at 12v jd tractors for my grandson. As we were leaving one of the mechanics followed us out front and asked if we were from the area. We said no and he said are you Don Campbell ? I said yes and he got a big smile and he said he has been a long time fan of my webpage. Tomorrow I’ll post his picture and the owner of the Dealership and a little story about our visit.
Have a great Monday !!
