Great Lakes Freighter – Todays picture is one of several pictures our friend Bruce is sending us from on board the Freighter Lee Tregurtha. Bruce and his wife Barb are guests of his brother and some of his friends this week . We did not get to go , boo, hoo. ha,ha.
But it is almost like were on the boat with them as they have been sending us lots of pictures and we did facetime with them and Bruce walked around the boat giving us a tour so that was cool. They got on the ship at the Soo on the supply boat Ojibaway . They were loaded with iron ore and headed downbound for Gary, Indiana . After unloading they headed to the Calumet River near Chicago and loaded up with coal and then went upbound to Milwaukee and unloaded. Now they are heading up towards the Mackinaw Bridge working their way into the St. Mary’s River tonight. Now they will go to Marquette to load up again. It has been fun getting many updates. But now they must have lost all phone signals because we have not heard from them in three hours.
Cat Blade Progress- Today I finished welding the two center sets of clevis’s that the lift cylinders connect too. Now i am working on building the side pins that support the blade side arms. Should get them built by tonight. I also have half of the blade welds ground smooth and bondo applied but not sanded.
