Mack Truck model and Trailer Construction Progress

macktrailer3, originally uploaded by Don Campbell Models.

Mack Truck R – Todays picture shows the next progress on the trailer construction. You can see I have welded the next lower deck section to the front upper hitch frame section. I also now have the first dolly stand parts cut out and welded together and attached. Also the right side binder swivel anchor brackets are built and attached. There is still more length to add on the rear deck with the axles and the dovetail section and the folding ramps. Looking like with the ramps folded up the tractor/trailer model will measure around 12 feet long. It might look small in this picture but it is taking up a lot of real estate on my workbench, LOL
I am really enjoying this project. It’s going to be another unique one of a kind model.
Cat 390 DL- Mid-Jan. I figure construction will begin on the 390 excavator . The 1/12th scale drawings are already to go but now possibly could end up being 1/8th scale instead. I’ve never changed a scale after I scaled up a set of drawings so we’ll see what happens in Jan. Either way I am very excited to build this awesome excavator.
No Snow in Northern Michigan – As if the economy wasn’t bad enough the fact were getting no snow even makes it worse. We have a Army of snowplow drivers wanting snow , ski resorts, snowmobile dealers, snowblower dealers , etc. I just don’t think it is going to be a hard winter with so many changes in the weather the last couple years.
I’m so glad I got the toy building to keep me busy. This is the reason I started building toys because of all the idol time between snowplowing.
Have a great Friday .
