Otsego County Railroad- Northern Michigan Railroads aren’t to busy these days with the end of the tracks a mile north of Gaylord. About once a week ot two we here the train whistle . I never thought about it much but in the last couple weeks since I brgan building my first toy train I have really noticed hearing the train whistle and had the ugre to go look at it and possible ask for a ride too, ha,ha.
I’m not sure but it might be a GP-35.
Todays train picture progress shows the left side steps now bent and attached and the first front safety railings and one set on the left side that attaches to the cab. Next week I will finish the other side cab railings and then begin building he front coupler assembly and the hoses.
Gaylord Hobby Lobby- Today Deb and I visited our new Hobby Lobby Store in Gaylord. It isn’t a guys idea of hobbies, instead it is rows and rows of girly crafts , plastic flowers, cloth for making clothes, painting supplies, picture frames, etc. It’s more like a Franks or a Michaels . Out of the hundreds and hundreds of shelves of girly crafts, I did find one isle about 30 feet long with a few model cars so that was a little exciting . But as far a a hobby shop for guys , it just isn’t that at all. It was fun to walk around with Deb and look around anyway.
Gaylord’s Tim Horton’s – Otsego County just got a new Tim Horton’s Store , it’s a bakery, sandwich store and premium ice cream store. I’m not much of a ice cream person, but Deb did enjoy it .
