Last weekend when we were dropping off the models to Mel Price in Danville, Ill. , Mel wanted me to go check out the 90D NW Dragline he recently purchased. He said he would really enjoy a all steel detailed model of it . So I told him I would enjoy building my first dragline. Mel has bought many of my models over the last several years. He said he is going to downsize his collection a little . I do not mind if someone who has purchased a model or several models from me decides to sell them. I just hope they have been a good purchase and they can be sold for a little more for a little profit. Because 99% of the models I build are one of a kind models . So each one would be unique in anyones collection. No-one else will ever have one as I will never build another one that is the same model. Mel said he will be at Dyersville next weekend and he said he will be at the St.Louis Show in Feb. If you are interested in any of my models he might have to sell, be sure to mention it to him at these toy shows. Mel loves talking toys, so be sure to stop him to talk toys.
NATIONAL FARM TOY SHOW FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT- Deb and I have attended the National Farm Toy Show for the last eight years. This would be the third year that I would have nothing to sell. We always enjoyed visiting and laughing with so many people . We will sure miss that , and we have made a lot of memories at Dyersville . Deb and I would always walk downtown and enjoyed the feel of the nice little town. We still considered making the drive in the car and just enjoying the show one day and then head back home. But with the early arrival of winter weather with 9 inches of snow last week and two days of fresh snow this week, we have decided not to make the drive this year to Dyersville. With more snow in the forecast we think we want to just stay home this year. Mel Price sounded like he might bring some models to show at Dyersville and possibly sell along with other one of a kind models I have made. He said he still had to talk to Cathy from Toy Farmer to confirm it. It will seem very strange not going to the National Farm Toy Show this year.
