PAINTING BEGINS- I finished sanding and priming the dozens and dozens of parts today for the Hitachi Shovel in 1/12th scale. The painting will begin next and the finished model colors will look like this picture posted today of the real Monster Hitachi EX-8000 Mining Shovel.
WASHINGTON D.C. GETS HAMMERED 23 INCHES OF SNOW – We just talked to Bill and Nicole tonight on the phone and the snowstorm is now about over but not before it left over 20 inches of snow in the area. Dulles and Reagan Airports both came to a standstill as all flights have been cancelled until Sunday morning. Bill went hunting this morning and there were 8 inches of snow in the woods. Bill got two deer this morning but he was actually more excited about the snowstorm than the deer, ha,ha. Bill is from Northern Michigan and he is like me , we just love Major Snowstorms !! They are just very exciting . Bill said there were two County snowplows down in the middle of the freeway after sliding out of control and a smei-tractor trailer jack knifed too . He said everywhere he looked cars were stuck and abandoned. He helped over a dozen people get unstuck and even gave one man a ride home from the mall where he worked.
2003 was the last really exciting snowstorm for Bill in the city. Not so exciting for Nicole , but Tonight was date night for Nicole and Bill and they weren’t about to cancel it just because of 2 feet of snow, ha,ha. Bill is used to driving in this kind of snow so off they went just a couple miles to the resturaunt and had their date night anyway , ha,ha.
Het Deb !, What’s for Supper ? I decided we should have a second date night tonight and for me to take another night off from working in the shop. So I took Deb to Applebees for supper with one of five free gift cards we need to start using and then from the resturaunt we headed to the Farm Store to look at tractor parts. (:>). Then to Wal-mart, Lowes, Home Depot , so I guess you could say this was THE BIG NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN ha,ha. But as always we had fun , whereever Deb and I go together we have a few laughs and enjoy each others company and that is what always makes it fun.
