Alpine Chocolate Haus – Northern Michigan is known for all the candy stores that make homeade fudge ,
From Traverse City to Petosky to Gaylord to Mackinaw all the way up to the Soo Locks.
Hence the tourists got the nickname ( fudgies because they all stop for a few lbs. of fudge to take back south with them after vacationing in Northern Michigan.
Our friend Bruce has great fudge too at his Alpine Chocolate Haus along with the best homeade carmel corn in the country and the absolute best chocolate covered potato chips in the world !, YUM YUM !
But when it comes time to get some great taffy Deb and I know the only place in our area with the best variety of flavors is at the Taffy Store in Charlevoix Michigan.
It is so yummy with so many different flavors . Many of you remember us posting a picture last summer of us at the taffy store .
The taffy is third on our list of goodies as the chocolate covered potato chips are first and Bruces famous carmel corn is second.
Bruce makes over ten different varieties of carmel corn including some drizzled with white and milk chocolate , yum !
Boyne City Alpine Chocolate Haus Opening – Yesterday we met Bruce Brown at his brand new store in Boyne City , Michigan.
His new store will be opening in less than two weeks in the brand new Glen’s complex on the end of Water Street next to the new Bistro resturaunt . We checked inside on the progress yesterday as the painters were busy working on the ceiling. This is our fifth ride over to Boyne City with Bruce and Barb to check on the progress.
So we are excited for them to open the new store.
WEIGHTWATCHERS- I now have a lot of guilt talking about all those goodies so just to let you know we had only 3 pieces of taffy each yesterday and had great control on our portion size. (:>).
