Tugboats and coastguard – Early this morning the Paul R. Tregurtha ran aground in the St. Mary’s River next to the narrow rock cut. It was reported on the news today that the biggest ship on the Great Lakes had two cracks in it and was taking on water. On board pumps were keeping the water under control. This afternoon the vessel is on it’s way to Detour for inspection . Some of you might remember Deb and I spent a week on board this ship living in the owners quarters on the whole 4th floor.
Hopefully the Captain was doing everything right or his bonus this year could be on the line.
Komatsu – I am working on more hand rails today .
Gaylord CRIME — Last night we saw the Gaylord City Police parked at our neighbors house across the street. After they left we called them and they said they had been robbed. Someone walked in their garage and cleaned them out in broad daylight. We saw the police driving around looking for suspects . Alos yesterday two people were robbed behind the chocolate haus in broad daylight. As they just went into a store for 15 minutes when they returned they had been robbed in the daylight hours too.
Another couple saw two young men removing their screen door while they were in the house . When they came to the door the two boys took off running .
Gaylord is no longer that peaceful little town where you keep the keys in your car and your house unlocked. I’m going to build some bars to go over my two workshop windows and build some metal reenforcement over the windows and the door frames of the shop doors.
I have had some suspicion someone has been in my backyard lately at night.
Just a sign of the times I guess. Many young kids are on some kinds of drugs and no longer care if it is night or day to rob people.
Have a nice Thurs.
