P&H 5700 XPA Mining Shovel – Todays picture shows just the boom , stick and bucket for Don Campbell’s largest 1/12th scale all steel static model ever built. It just has to be a monster in real life because it holds the title of the worlds largest two crawler shovel.
You can see the size of the bucket and the boom compared to me and you can see it is going to be gigantic !!
The Silver Spade house made it through my workshop door but this larger scale model will not come close to fitting through the door. I will start ordering steel on Monday and start cutting out the first parts on Wed. of this week.
CAT 797F HAUL TRUCK PROGRESS- Tomorrow I will post the first pictures of the completed Cat 797F monster truck. I had to wait for paint to dry for the final decal application. I’ll also post more pics of the rest of the shovel .
SNOW IS MELTED IN GAYLORD – 80% of our snow is now melted and it is safe to say winter is pretty much winding down . What a major disaster for the army of snowplow drivers. But the positive is that homeowners and business owners did get a break for once and that left more money in their pockets in these hard times.
