SPRING !!!!!!!- less than one week is the first day of spring, yippee !
We still got 25 more inches of snow to get to hit 200 inches in Gaylord.
It is a sunny winter day and the snowmobilers are here in full force this weekend . They know now the snowmobiling weekends are almost over. We still have 12 inches of snow in our backyard and 10 foot snowhills in every parking lot. Our front yard is full of snow 7 foot tall and 40 foot long , but knowing spring is close sure feels good. (:>) I always enjoy going for rides with Deb and checking out the new tractors on the lots like the one from Voelkers John Deere Dealer in Lake City. .
STEAK AND MUSHROOM SUB – The Gaylord Glens Supermarket had a grand opening this week after spending 2 million dollars on remodeling . So they had some great specials to get all the area shoppers to stop in and check out the new look. One of the specials was Beff Tenderlons !, umm ! They are normally $120.00 ea. but this week with the big sale they knocked off $10.00 a lb !! and they are now only around $50.00 each. So Deb and I bought 5 whole beef tenderloins !! That is a great deal !! So today I thin sliced a couple lbs of one of them and Deb quick fired it in the Wok with Mushrooms, onions, garlic and mozzerella cheese . Then we toasted two fresh sub rolls , it was delicious !!! We chopped all the other tenderloins into 6 inch chunks and froze them. So it looks like we will be dining a lot this summer on Filets on the grille !!, umm !!
COUNTING CALORIES – The downside of the subs were for one small sub, the calories were 800 !! OUCH !! it adds up fast !
WALKING OUTSIDE – We may get three nice days in a row and if so it might melt enough of the ice that we will try walking a little outside. We have walked everyday all winter on the treadmill so we should be in pretty good shape. Surprisingly though, walking on a treadmill and walking outside really uses many different muscles. We are always sore after the first week of outside walking.
Model Truck – I got the rear bed of the truck started and the rear bumper pretty well roughed in. Monday i will put the sides on the box . Next weekend it should be completed.
