Walloon Lake Steam Engine Show Memories

Buckley Steam Engine Show – It is raining in Gaylord today and has rained all night last night . I woke up this morning hoping much of our snow would be gone . Now we only have 20 inches left. But the snowbanks are still huge. Today we changed our clocks ahead so tonight it will stay light an extra hour. A sure sign of spring. Todays picture is of me drooling over a mini jd tractor someone made and was showing at a local tractor show. I always stopped and looked at any hand made tractors at every tractor show knowing the day would come when i would have my own mini tractors. I turned 60 last year and I figured it was now or never . I went a little crazy buying 10 old garden tractors and dragging them home. Over the last 10 months I have lived a life long dream of puttering with garden tractors and making a few mini tractors. I am happy to say i now have four custom JD mini tractors of my own . I also built a 2 wheel trailer and a 4 wheel wagon to pull behind them . I am currently working on another one and I almost forgot I restored a jd 110 round fender garden tractor just like we had on the farm that i used to mow with as a teenager.
I plan on having a fun summer with Deb and not working 5or 6 days a week like I have the last several years. By fall I plan on getting back to building some smaller models again . I needed a year off from the models to pursue my garden tractor hobby. I’m noticing a lot of people in the obits passing away at 60 years old and I am very thankful God gave me this time to enjoy this dream I have had for over 20 years to spend some time building something for me and my grandson.
Running day 4 – Today I had my best run so far and day 10 of our Leesburg Diet . It takes me four weeks to get that bloated look and feeling to go away .
I won’t overdo the running and take it one day at a time.
Once the nice weather hits I lose 20 lbs just from all the clothes i wear and my heavy boots. 90% of the winter i work in the shop with no heat so i dress with several layers to keep warm. If I keep moving I stay pretty warm . I do crank on the heat about four times a day for 10 minutes.
Have a great Sunday
