Workshop is very functional with everything on wheels.

boattraindozerinshop, originally uploaded by Don Campbell Models.

Drill presses , welding bench and workbenches sheet metal brake, sheet metal knotcher and the horizontal/vertical bandsaw is all on wheels.
People often e-mail me and can’t believe how small my workshop is and I tell them this is my new modern larger workshop. My old workshop out in the back shed was 12 feet x 10 feet, ha,ha.
Even this shop is small but I knew to get maximum use out of it putting wheels on everything would allow me to use all the space i had from wall to wall at one end or the other.
In less than a half hour I can completely clear this room of everything by pushing it in the garage and lining up everything out there.
It is rare I would do that but nice knowing I have that option.
I often see other big workshops that are full of clutter and impossible to even get a vehicle inside . And i just drool thinking of how I could rearrange things and get so much use out of that valuable space. So for the small area in town I have to work with I’d say i have taken full advantage of my small workshop space, ha,ha.
One more week and I will have all the space back again to work in. (:>)
Hard Freeze Tonight – Bye, Bye Gardens as tonight temps will reach the 20’s and our first hard freeze is in the forecast . That will get the apples ready for fall picking.
Great Lakes Freighter Model- I will work more on the Freighter Model this week building upright supports for the railings. I use a piece of 3/32 rod, hammer the end , use a punch to prepare the hole for the drill and drill two 1/16th holes in each one and then delicatley weld each one to the model. There are over 100 of these to make . After working on parts for a 1/3rd scale model for 6 months now working on parts for a 1/200th scale model I’m having a little trouble adjuting to from the 5/16 and 3/8 drill bits to 1/16th drill bits, ha,ha.
Have a great Thurs.
