Liebherr Model , Northern Michigan Man’s Hobby , Don Campbell from Gaylord , Michigan .

Liebherr – It’s hard to believe I have now been making toys 10 years. I never thought 11 years ago when I stopped building real trailers, real snowplow blades and real dunebuggies, I would ever enjoy a hobby . But after sitting around one winter very bored , I decided to try making a toy out of steel from scratch. . One thing led to another and here I sit today thinking back ten years now of the greatest hobby I could have ever imagined. I still get to work with metal and I still get to create new machines every month on my little workbench. It’s still hard for me to believe I have now had had one and a quarter million visitors to my webpage. Very AWESOME !! Thanks everyone who visits my webpage !!
Todays picture shows the progress I completed on the cab portion of the Liebherr R9800 Mining Excavator Model. next I will do the design for the first of several components that mount behind the cab.
Michigan State University – WELL, Not So Good ?? Oh Well, it was exciting until last night about 9:45 pm , ha,ha.
TOY TRUCKER MAGAZINE – I just got the April 2009 custom issue of Toy Trucker and Contractor Magazine. I was happy to see the Dart Coal Hauler I built for Kevin Anderson had a full page color article in it showing different stages of building it. Thanks Cathy and everyone at Toy Farmer and Toy Trucker for including me in another Toy Trucker Magazine. I have now had over 60 different models I have built shared in the pages of Toy Farmer and Toy Trucker over the last ten years. I have also been lucky enough to have had my models on the cover four different times. Very Cool !! Thanks a bunch !!
SOO LOCKS – Seems there is a difference of opinion these days about building a new larger Lock on the Canadian Border at the Soo. Many people feel now with the economy so bad and the shipping season hurting more than it has in years, this is not a good time to invest any money in the locks. Tonnage this year is expected to drop by 25% or more. Several ships don’t even plan to leave port all season this year. It will be interesting to see how things turn out.
Deb’s VACATION DAY 2 – I’m busy entertaining Deb again today on her second day of vacation. I was up early baking two cakes , one white and one chocolate while she lounges around the house with a rolled up newspaper ready to hit me with it if I don’t respond promptly to her requests, ha,ha. So far I have fullfilled all her needs . Well, almost all her needs, some things she wants me to do, well, I just can’t do it , I’m too embarrassed. ?? ha,ha.
The main thing is I see to it that she has five days of total bliss away from pre-schoolers calling her name every five minutes . (:>).
So in between waiting on her and handing her money twice a day it is going very smooth, LOL
SPRING BREAK IN FLORIDA- Several of our friends are in Florida this week and they said it is chilly down there in the fifties. We told them we would love to see 50 degrees, today in Gaylord it is 28 degrees with a 15 mph north wind and more snow. (:<) , I think I’ll wait a couple more days to get the Corvette out on the road again, ha,ha.
Have a Great Tues. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
