Don Campbell checks out a chocolate Easter Bunny for Deb at the Gaylord Alpine Chocolate Haus.

EASTER SUNDAY- These days Americans are much more interested in spending time getting good chocolate than they are thinking about Christian Thoughts at Easter Time.
It’s just another sign of the times and more indication of the next generation gap with Deb and I now that we are old. We have even lost touch with much of todays music. But i guess once in a while Deb or I will walk around the house rapping ?, ha,ha !
The last of our youth is our Corvette and the fun we still have and the feeling we get driving it that reminds us of so many years of fun memories in them from our beginning together and dating and going to buy the very first Corvette 38 years ago. All the fun stories of how we made the best deal on all six of the different Corvettes we had over the years.
One story was we lived in Mass. and we went to Lawrence, Mass. to the Chevy Dealer and they had a 1968 mint Corvette with a 427 hp engine. I wanted it real, real bad. After coming back three different times, the salesman knew I really wanted it too. So we started negotiating the price and we got within $50.00 of me buying it. As the salesman and I would not budge any further on the price, Deb opened up her billfold and started to hand the salesman $50.00 ??
Excuse ME !! I said to Deb !, I explained to her I didn’t want it THAT bad !!, ha,ha. So we told him we would think about it more and possibly come back after goin gto Worcester , Mass to the dealer who had over 30 Corvettes on the lot.
Well, as we got in our car and started the car , the salesman came running out and smiled and said you win, and that day I bought my second Little Red Corvette. But i had to tell Deb that her handing the salesman was not the right thing to do , ha,ha. And she never did that again. (:>).
So today I am taking the day off on Deb’s vacation and going cruising in our Little Red Corvette.
Yesterday we took the Cadillac to the Cadillac Dealer about a hour away and got the oil changed . We saw a brand new white Cadillac CTS in the showroom floor. We were a little surprised as the salesmen all sat in one of the offices visiting and laughing together , and not one of them stood up and approached us asking us if we had any questions about the $45,000 Cadillac. I’m sure they looked as us and thought we couldn’t afford a car like that and they didn’t even want to walk the 20 feet to talk to ask us . We think they were too busy talking about the billions of dollars they were getting in bailout money , ha,ha.
Sure makes you question their enthusiasm for selling cars when someone comes to the dealership and stands for 10 minutes looking all over a new car and not another customer in the whole dealership (:>). The funny thing is they called (two) times in the last two weeks asking us if we were ready to trade in our Cadillac. When Deb told them that they just called 5 days earlier and asked the same questions, I think they were a little embarrassed.
Have a Great THURS. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
