Gaylord Meijers Store- First of all some of you have asked what is a Meijers Store. Well, it is similar to Wal-Mart with one stop shopping of groceries, electronics, office supplies , gardening supplies, etc.
It was started in Michigan many years ago and is well known to Michigan folks. When we lived downstate we loved shopping at Meijers in Lansing and Saginaw.
Well, here is how it all went down after 20 years of hearing and waiting for Meijers to come to Gaylord. ?
I decided this was a special evening so I decided not to work in the shop last night . Instead I got my best bluejeans and my good,
( All Jacked up on Mountain Dew) sweatshirt out of the closet .
I even took a shower !! , (:>) Then I got my best girl , Deb and got her all cleaned up too , ha,ha. She cleans up Real good. (:>).
Then we headed to the Gaylord Ruby Tues. Resturaunt to celebrate knowing the 20 year wait was over for Meijers finally coming to Gaylord.
I ordered a full rack of rib dinner, umm ! and Deb ordered Chicken Fingers and we both got pop. Very tasty !
When the meal was done and the bill came , Deb (Whipped Out ) the free meal card we got from a Christmas Present from one of the daycare Parents. So we were feeling Real good leaving and not dishing out any cash.
Our next stop was the Long Awaited first look at the brand new store.
I worked for Kroger and Giant Supermarkets for almost 20 years . So I always enjoy seeing a new store and how nice things look. We looked everything over and and observed for over a hour most of the nice variety of products . Very Nice Store !
We headed to checkout lane and when the total bill was added up, once again , Deb (Whipped out ) a white envelope labeled ( Free Credit Card Refund Money ) So we were really feeling good knowing we still didn’t dish out any cash !!Then as we pulled out of the parking lot, I saw the truck needed gas , so we pulled into the Meijers Gas Station and once it was filled, I saw Deb once again ( Whip Out ) a red envelope labeled ( Free Gas Money ) from the money she saved by going green all winter.
At last the moment I had been waiting for all evening to reward Deb for being so organized arrived. So I (whipped it out) ! , she was very happy to see a nice , crisp $100.00 bill for her. (:>)
She was very happy and as she walked away I saw her grab a yellow envelope and write something on it, LOL
It really was a fun , special night with Deb and another little memory together , oh and the new store had a nice selection of real butter for us Buttertons , umm ha,ha,ha. !
We really are a great team and I am very proud of Deb as a great mom and a great wife ! Thanks Deb for a fun night with you !! Smooch ! , Smooch !!
SUNNY DAY – The snow is all melted and the sun is shining nice and bright today (:>).
