GOLD CUP HORSE RACES IN VA. – The Kentucky Derby was held over the weekend at Derby Downs in Kentucky and so was the Gold Cup in Va. So Nicole and Bill and Fred and Lindsey and the new baby Baily decided to go too. Nicole said it was a fun afternoon . Here is a smilebox of them at the horse races

They all moved to D.C. from Gaylord and they have a lot of fun together . Bill has another cousin that also lives in the D.C. area so they all enjoy getting together several times a year.
SIXTY-FIVE DEGREES – We got us a beautiful Monday and I even got the workshop door open and it feels great.
MOREL MUSHROOMS , UMM GOOD !! – Well, our mushroom hunter friend came through as promised last night for supper. He got us a nice quart of early dark Morels. He said the woods are still too cold and he thinks one more week they should take off. Most of them were only 2 inches tall but a few were three inches tall.
Deb cleaned them and dipped them in egg , then fresh ground cracker crumbs and I popped them in the mini deep fryer until they were golden brown. They were so delicious !!, just as I remember them to be. (:>) We figure 3 to 4 thousand calories ?
Great Lake frieghters shutting down again- I heard that now four of the big thousand foot Great Lakes Ships have gone back to port and shut down because of the slow economy. Also several smaller vessels have also shut down or still have not even left port this year yet. Last week they still had not started using the first locks yet up at the Soo Locks , it is still empty with no water in it.
Michigan is in rough shape with unemplyment now at Depression levels from 20 to 28 percent. . Many people are leaving Michigan and going to work in other states. Now shutting down all the car factories all summer will even slow things down more.
But Deb and I sat home all last summer because of the high gas prices. But not this summer, we plan to do some camping !! (:>). We just won’t go as far to camp. Six months of winter is just too long to sit around all summer.
Blessing of the Jeeps – My brother Dan wrecked his Harley last summer and decided not to replace it . So he bought a nice little sporty Jeep instead. His wife Debbie and him enjoyed it on Sat. meeting up with dozens of other Jeep owners for the
annual ( Blessing of the Jeeps )
Liebherr Model priming the parts today- I got most of the parts sanded and I should get most of the parts primed by tonight.
