Don Campbell gets the motorhome out of storage today for a fun summer of camping in Northern Michigan., originally uploaded by Don Campbell Models.
Traverse City State Park, Otsego Lake State Park, Petosky State Park, Higgins Lake State Park, are just a few of the over 50 campgrounds we have camped in over the last few years. This 27′ Four Winns Motorhome has been our best investment. This is our second motorhome as we bought our first one when Nicole was 3 years old. We had several fun years in it also.
Twenty -Nine degree temps this morning in Gaylord and rising gas prices this week won’t discourage us from having a great 2009 Camping season.
Deb and I are a great team , we both work hard, we both manage our money very well, and we both sit patiently for 6 months of winter to get over with .
But when May hits, we both enjoy our summers of camping equally. Todays picture shows me just after I raised the awning to air it out after sitting since last fall in the shed. Keeping it inside really preserves the look of it and it shines like new.
Liebherr Final Assembly- This morning I cut a plywood base to sit the large Excavator model on for easier transporting. I also have most of the lower track parts now assembled for the final time. This afternoon I will work on attaching the top of the model onto the swivel base. I should get it looking good by the end of this week.
O&K RH-400 – Next week I will start cutting out the first parts .
Relaxing Sunday Afternoon- Maybe I did get rested up a little on vacation after all. Yesterday in the afternoon I put up new eves troughs over the garage door, reseeded parts of the lawn and fertilized it, tore down and rebuilt a new small retaining wall, and got the materials at Home Depot to reseal my driveway plus walk 6 miles. Before I was so overweight, I used to really be ambitious and I would have hand waxed one or two vehicles too, ha,ha.
HEALTHY EATING – Deb and I didn”t do too bad on vacation , we only gained two lbs in 10 days . And yesterday we ate only raw fruit and veggies and we are eating 100% healthy again today . We have no regrets , vacations are supposed to be great fun and be about great food.
Atlantic City Casino Gambling- Even though we spent three days at Atlantic City at Caesars Palace, we did not do any gambling. We asked a few people in the elevator several times how their luck was going , and any tips for us to win big. They all said they were barely winning anything, one lady said she one $90.00 all weekend and the rest just said they were not doing good at all.
We had actually considered trying to gamble but after we heard everyone sound so discouraged we desided to invest in food instead , LOL !!
