DHS Diecast Open House – Todays picture shows me standing next to a couple of very nice young men that Deb and I met at Chuck’s Toy Show. Standing next to me is Vinni and to the right is his older brother Sal. Both from N.Y.C.
We also met their mom and dad and had a great visit for over a hour with them. Sal is a very serious custom modeler with visions of building complete machines from scratch in the years to come. I was very impressed watching and talking to Sal about his ideas and the models he was wanting to build . He works with brass and solders everything together. And I could see he had a special eye for detail. It’s hard to believe someone my age would have anything in common with a young man Sal’s age. But it’s rare to have the special gift we both have working with brass or metal to achieve our ideas we have spinning in our minds. It made me think if I had started in this hobby at Sal’s age, what I might have created now in my life. We also got to know their mom and dad pretty well , once we caught on to their cute accents. We told them if we make it to N.Y.C. next year, we will treet them to a pizza in their city, (:>). I’m sure it will be delicious !!, Thanks you guys for a fun visit , see you next year in your neighborhood (:>).
